Martin Clarke is a composer, saxophonist and sound recordist working in improvisation, electroacoustic composition and field recording.
He studied music at the University of Edinburgh and completed a PhD in composition at the University of Birmingham with Jonty Harrison where he performed regularly with Birmingham Electroacoustic Sound Theatre (BEAST) in the UK and abroad.
His music has been performed at festivals and in concert around the world. He has collaborated with musicians and artists such as John Tilbury, Alicja Rogalska, London Improvisers Orchestra, Mopomoso Workshop amongst others.
He has released music on Gruenrekorder, Standard Form, and Trestle Records. He has also appeared on releases for Weekertoft, London Improvisers Orchestra, Hundred Years Gallery, Minimal Resource Manipulation, Winds Measure, Framework Editions, Cronica, Engraved Glass, Audiobulb and Ambolthue Records.
Since 2007 he has run the label oem releasing a mix of field recordings, free improvisation and electroacoustic music.
